Winter sports has proven to be healthy, as you are breathing in the fresh mountain air, soaking in the vitamin D, and moving around. With the restrictions the last few months, mental health awareness has been increasing. Not only are the mountains good for the body, but they are also good for the mind and soul. The global pandemic has been a challenge for all of us. With this in mind, we ask you to observe the following protective measures to ensure that all of us have a healthy and positive winter season. Thank you.
ONLINE BOOKING
Almost all our services can be booked online. This eliminates the need to go to the Herbst Ski School offi ce in person, thus eliminating a contact point. With our one-stop-shop system, lessons and equipment rentals could be booked all through our website www.herbst.skischool.shop. Your privacy is of the upmost importance to us; therefore, your information is only used for booking services and contact tracing for COVID-19.
MEETING POINTS
To avoid large groups, we expanded our ski school meeting places. Lessons and lunch breaks are more carefully spread out to reduce crowding (i.e. our early morning private lessons option). The Almenwelt Lofer has responded to the pandemic by changing the operation times. During high season, gondola operations will start at 8 am and end at 4 pm to avoid peak times with many guests. We kindly ask for your understanding as guests, of any age, are not allowed to participate in any lesson if they have the symptoms of COVID-19.
NON-MEDICAL MASKS AND HAND SANITIZING
Non-medical masks or face coverings, that completely cover the nose and mouth, are mandatory at meeting points and during lessons when a 1-meter distance to others cannot be constantly maintained. This applies to situations such as queuing for lifts and group waiting areas.
It is expected that non-medical masks or face coverings are worn by guests (6 years old and up) and staff in all public indoor facilities, such as our rental department, ski school offi ce, equipment storage areas, and sports store. The classic masks, as well as bandanas, multifunctional headwear (i.e. Buffs), and ski masks are all accepted face coverings. Those who do not own appropriate face coverings can purchase them directly from our sports store. As an additional bonus: every child booked in a ski course with us will receive an exclusive and free bandana (while supplies last) that can be used as a face covering.
Hand sanitizing dispensers are located at every entrance to our sports store and storage rooms. We encourage everyone to use them before entering the facility. To protect both our guests and staff, plexiglass barriers are installed at all cash registers, ski rental desks, and in our ski school offi ce. Not to mention, all rental equipment is thoroughly sanitized after every use.
SKI RACES AND SKI SHOWS
The ski races continue to take place weekly without any restrictions. However, the start intervals are optimized to avoid any congestion in the start and fi nish areas. As per usual, the prizes are given outdoors. Unfortunately, the Magic Night of Fire ski show is cancelled this year due to the COVID-19 protective measures.
OUR STAFF
Our team received specifi c instructions as well as rules of conduct for the winter season. As well, they always wear a non-medical mask or face covering when the 1-meter distance cannot be maintained. To ensure the health of our guests and staff, diagnostic (PCR) tests for COVID-19 are taken by the team on a regular basis.
CANCELLATIONS
If, despite all the precautionary measures, you have an uneasy feeling or if you are feeling unwell, we offer free cancellations for all ski courses and rental equipment booked online up to 48 hours in advance of the course or rental period. If you are feeling sick but are already on-site, all services that are not redeemed will be refunded if you notify us in good time.
